Thanks to everyone who participated in the 2007 Loop the Lagoon! Under the beautiful sunny skies of Lagoon Valley, over 1,000 people walked, ran, or just socialized at the carnival for a great cause: education.

Because of your participation in this event, the Vacaville Public Education Foundation will be able to provide continued funding for exciting and excellent enrichment programs for the children of the Vacaville Unified School District.

Since its inception, VPEF has funded educational programs, materials, and support services as well as extra-curricular programs in music and athletics. This Spring we initiated an after-school program known as VUSD/VPEF Class Act. An inter-school chorus, science, math, music, authorship, and speed stacking are currently being offered at four sites. Programming will begin at all elementary sites in the Fall, 2007.

My heartfelt gratitude extends to all of the wonderful folks who made Loop the Lagoon possible: event sponsors, vendors, VUSD administration, the print shop, principals and teachers at each of the school sites, Wellness Committee advisors and members, carnival volunteers, registration volunteers, set-up volunteers, race committee members, timing specialists, and everyone else who came together to host this grand community event.
